This piece is symbolic of the framed paintings in this series. The framed paintings in this series are made using kimonos and obi that are no longer in use.

The threads on the back of the obi are never visible on the outside, but without these threads the beautiful patterns on the outside could not be woven. For that reason, I decided to focus on the back of the obi, which is usually not seen.
