Yasuda, Agano City, Niigata Prefecture, has long been blessed with high-quality clay.
The Watabe Kiln was started in 1969 by the Watanabe brothers, who were fascinated by pottery as a folk art.
After that, it was named Yasuda-yaki in 1976, and it mainly makes pottery for daily use.
It is a pottery made by baking iron-rich black clay with wood ash glaze, and many of them are rounded and have a calm color.
It is a pottery that is easy to hold and has a warm feeling, and is easy to use as a practical product.
