This is a Noh mask.
It is a mask used in Noh, a representative classical performing art of Japan.
Noh has a history of over 600 years, and is a type of music and dance performed on a special Noh stage using masks and beautiful costumes.Noh, along with Kabuki and Ningyō Jōruri Bunraku, was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008.
There are about 240 plays and a variety of roles, and it is said that about 250 types of Noh masks are used.
There are about 60 basic forms, but depending on the mask maker, some masks with the same name can have very different expressions.
In addition, different style may use different masks for the same play, so the more you learn about it, the deeper the world becomes.

これは能の仮面です。これは日本の代表的な古典芸術である能で使われる仮面です。

能は600年以上の歴史を持ち、仮面や美しい衣装を用いて特別な能の舞台で演奏される音楽と踊りの一種です。能は歌舞伎や人形浄瑠璃文楽とともに、2008年にユネスコの無形文化遺産に登録されました。

約240の劇と多様な役割があり、約250種類の能面が使われると言われています。

基本的な形態は約60種類ありますが、マスクメーカーによっては、同じ名前のマスクでも表現が大きく異なる場合があります。

さらに、流派によって同じ演目に異なる仮面を使うこともあるので、学べば学ぶほど世界が深くなります。
